You'll have another one VERY soon on the floor plan of the House of Commons and "How a Bill Becomes a Law".We also did a mock election in class today. I have sent out the Internet based assignment to your e-mail accounts, so let me know if you didn't receive it. This assignment is due on Thursday.

  6. "When legislators try to destroy or take away the property of the people, or try to reduce them to slavery, they put themselves into a state of war with the people who can then refuse to obey the laws. When legislators try to gain or give someone else absolute power over lives, liberties, and property of the people, they abuse the power which the people had put into their hands. It is then the privilege of the people to establish a new legislature to provide for their safety and security."
    -John Locke

    Sound familiar?

  7. Voltaire would sound something like this,"It is dangerous to be right when the government is wrong."

  19. That's the beauty of Japanese, if you speak English you know a lot of Japanese words. They just take an English word and put a Japanese spin on it. There are lots of cognates.
