What is the dialectic method? Do we need to know the First National thingy?? Do we need to know the fabians? SS20 by the way
You need to look at the booklet that I gave you entitled "Philosophies of Industrialism", at the back it talks about Hegel's dialetic model (it's the diagram), which Marx used in his description of history. Basically, the dialetic method talks about a thesis and a antithesis and reaching a new synthesis. Marx applied this model to history when talking about the various class struggles that occurred throughout history, ultimately culminating in the class struggle between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie leading to the new synthesis of a classless society. Does that help?
Don't worry about the Fabians too much now, that will come up again in Social 30. I'm not sure I know what you mean by the "first National thingy"...
Ok thanks... the 1st national thingy was a question that was in the chapter 6 questions... its probably not important because that's the only time I've come across it.
Hey Mr. Gilchrist. I wasn't here this morning (Wednesday, Apirl 19, 2006) for the unit test. I forgot that I had an appointment that I had made a month ago (it was to see a specilist). I was just wondering if I could go in tomorrow morning during tutorial to do the test.
Hannah
It's a long one, so you can write it during class time.
