I went through a lot of topics related to World War I today, including "total war", key battles of WWI, the Paris Peace Conference and the various Paris treaties. I focused on the Treaty of Versailles (to remember the terms of the Treaty of Versailles, remember the mnemonic GARGLe)and the consequences of WWI. We'll be getting into the Interwar Years, the League of Nations in the days to come. I also gave you a booklet called "Making Peace" which focuses in on the key players ("the Big Three") at the Paris Peace Conference, namely David Lloyd George (Great Britain), Georges Clemenceau (France), and Woodrow Wilson (USA). You MUST complete the Focus Task on the back of the booklet for tomorrow. Please remember that you have World War I map of Europe due tomorrow. Please see yesterday's post for maps to help you out with this assignment.
Here's a copy of the map that you are to complete. Someone was nice enough to scan and send it to me.

We finished watching "Tools of Exploitation" today in class, along with the film study sheet that went along with it. We then moved into an introduction of the Imperialism Research Project by drawing lots, and going through the overview of the assignment.

Hi this is Linda and Vivian... we are just wondering if Indonesia is taken for the imperialism??.. please answer as soon as possible... because we want to change the country..instead of doing Vietnam
If possible, can you upload the original copy of the map (without any modifications) as a picture, so we can print it if we make mistakes.

Do we need a legend for the map also?

It's available, and it's yours.

Yes, you should have a simple legend on the front of the map to explain the colors that you used on your map.

Sorry, I don't have a hard copy to scan into the computer and post. Sorry, I can't help you out. A possible solution is if someone who took an extra copy of the map (there are a few that did), they scan it and send it to me by e-mail then I could post it.
This is Dan from Social 20-1
i can't find any useful map for me to use inorder to complete this map. I have a World Atlas but it only has present Europe and i tried to relate it to the 1914 map but it is all over the place. I tried the maps on the wiki and they did not help. I got like a couple of more things but i am only on #5 with 5 more things needed labled. Im looking down this assignment sheet and i can't see any way of me finishing this with the resources provided to me. I have hockey at 9 till 10 so i cant waste time searching over the web for this. I have nothing to work with so please understand.
Its Dan again. I did all i can really do at this point. I have outlines everything with a untra thin black sharpie and a red one for the locations with an "X". I cant color until i find these ones im missing because you cant really write over pencil crayon. Also a question about shading the allies and all that stuff: When you shade the Allies green and then the associated powers, can you just make it one green color? well just incase you can help me i am missing the following (and trust me i have looked for hours): Gibraltar, Madrid, Bosporus, Dardanelles, Ypres. I think that is all i am missing
HELP.The bosporus strait is not a point. Its a line. What to do?
And do we have to be very accurate?
do we color italy red or green on the map cuz it was part of both
20-1
Do we have to color every bit of the bodies of water blue or can we just color around the name?

wheres the border on our map between the ottoman empire and russia?
20-1
This map is harder than expected.
Wheres the belaric islands
Gibraltar, Madrid, Bosporus, Dardanelles, Ypres.
----------------------
Gibraltar is a tiny island (you'll have to draw it on your map) at the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea (the gap between the southern part of Spain and north Africa). Madrid is a city in Spain (right next door to France). Bosporous Straits is the gap between the Asian part of Turkey (Ottomon Empire) and the European part. The Dardanelles are another strait just southwest of the Bosporous (there's a map of this on the blog, check yesterday's post). Ypres is a city in Belgium, site of the Battle of Ypres.
HELP.The bosporus strait is not a point. Its a line. What to do?
And do we have to be very accurate?
------------------------
Draw a line to the strait and write Bosporous in the Black Sea area.
do we color italy red or green on the map cuz it was part of both
--------------------------
Color Italy the same color as the Allies.
Do we have to color every bit of the bodies of water blue or can we just color around the name?

I'm a big fan of the shading blue technique (for coastal areas, and inland seas as well).
wheres the border on our map between the ottoman empire and russia?
---------------------
Wow, this really would have been a better question to have asked in class because then I could have pointed to it. Have a look at the last map that I posted in yesterday's post, click on it and scroll around, it should help.
This map is harder than expected.
Wheres the belaric islands
