Social 20-1

I gave you back the results of the Unit 2 Written Response Assignment I (Part A, in-class 3 source analysis writing assignment)and your Chapter 5-6 Test. I went through a presentation today from the Genocide Watch website which highlights the "Eight Stages of Genocide". We then began watching a CNN program called "Scream Bloody Murder" which is providing us with an overview of genocide in the 20th and 21st centuries, and includes interviews with witnesses to these various genocides. We will continue watching this documentary tomorrow.

We started off watching a short video from the BBC 20th Century History series called "Make Germany Pay". While you were watching this film you were to take notes on the video on a worksheet. We then moved on to an examination of the rise of Hitler in Germany. The worksheet is from material in A History of the 20th Century (pages 14-17).

Social 30

We started our examination of WWII today by looking at the "big picture", an overview of the entire war by watching a video called "Blitzkrieg to the Bomb". With this video I gave you summary notes of the video itself. I also gave you a package of maps and readings that covers major events in WWII as well. We'll continue looking at WWII tomorrow. Please remember to review for your Interwar Years tests, here is the study guide. Your first test on this material is on Thursday, April 23rd and it's your Interwar Years Quiz (short answer format). Your Interwar Years Timeline Assignment is due on Thursday as well.
