May 25

I did a homework check on your Chapter 15 Key Terms and Questions today. I had you write over a plain language version of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Next, we went through an activity looking at the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and the effect that the notwithstanding clause has on Section 2 (Fundamental Freedoms), Sections 7-14 (Legal Rights) and Section 15 (Equality Rights). The chart that I gave you to fill in would act as a nice summary chart on the Charter once you filled it in. Your Chapter 16 Key Terms and Questions are due tomorrow. You also need to go through the PowerPoint presentation from the Social 10-1 wiki on "Impacts of Globalization on Groups in Society" on your own. Rather than me lecture using this PowerPoint presentation today. I've decided to let you read it on your own. Don't forget that you're writing your Chapter 15-16 Test on Tuesday, May 30th, you can find the study guide below.

This test will follow the typical format: a matching section, a multiple choice section and a short answer section. Please use the following study guide. This test will be written on Tuesday, May 30th.
