Rainchild. Go search Ypres on Wikipedia or battle of Ypres and you will find there are 4. Passchendaele is one. and Ypres is another. You listed the battles we have to know
i dont get this part for the outline--- select an example from each factor for discussion: demographic factors socioeconomic " cultural " geographical "
Citizenship is the duty you have as a citizen to participate in greater society, which includes the political process. For example, good citizens volunteer and help one another. Bad ones just care about themselves.
What?? NEITHER Somme and Vimy were battles of Ypres. They were in completely different areas. --------------------------------- Ypres is in Belgium. Passchendaele is close to the original Ypres lines. I TAUGHT it to you as Passchendaele, so don't confuse yourselves!!
i dont get this part for the outline--- select an example from each factor for discussion: demographic factors socioeconomic " cultural " geographical " --------------------------------- What theme are you looking at? Citizenship?

ND OH MY GOD STOP AVOIDING ME ----------------------------------- I'm not "avoiding you". Looking at the clock it's 10:34 p.m., the night before your final exam. How many teachers do you know would be online with their students trying to help them out before their final exam? I went over this briefly in class one day (if it's from Citizenship, which I think it is). Basically there are various factors that affect the degree to which citizens participate in the political process. In general, people of a higher socioeconomic class tend to participate more in the political process. People in different regions of the country might participate in the political process more seriously if they see that their votes truly "count" (voter apathy in the territories is high in part because of their low population they have very little political power).
sweeeeet haha how did you know it was me mr. Gilchrist? lol. but sorry I only meant did we need to know them all. Now I got a question. Did Haig insist that they walk across No-man's land? and what do we need to know about the term stuff in sovereignty?
Kevin Gilchrist said... i dont get this part for the outline--- select an example from each factor for discussion: demographic factors socioeconomic " cultural " geographical " --------------------------------- What theme are you looking at? Citizenship?
ok. final is 100 questions right? and what is cheating defined as? (The use or attempted use of any unauthorized information determined by teacher) i think. Is that what you define it as too? haha Dr. Pike
Hmm, off topic, but what happened to Schlieffen? Did he die or retire before WWI?
----------------------------------- He dies, and von Moltke doesn't have the courage to execute Schlieffen's plan the way it was designed. And that was off-topic.
Is it coincidence that in both world wars Germany made the first attacking moves, and in the end got beaten completely, and that in both wars they fought two fronts through most of it. You'd think they would learn.
mr. gilchrist, now that you're answering questions again, could you explain to me why 22 is b?
---------------------------------- Which test? If it's from the second practice final copy and paste it into the comment section so I can take a look at it. I made that test up at school today and I don't have it at home.
I think they were the agressor because of greed. Stupid Hitler. But both fronts was good tactics from the Triple Entente and the Allies, not Germany's fault
22. The size of Canada is important to the question of sovereignty because
A. Canada has a relatively small population for its large size B. Canada is so large and so close to a number of nations that they may challenge its borders C. Canada's extensive coastline gives it jurisdiction over a great deal of the waters within its 320 km limit D. Canada's government has established relations with most of the world's nations, mainly through the United Nations
I feel sorry for generals below the supreme commander. They have to deal with all sorts of bad tatical situations, and no matter how good they do they're always blamed both by the supreme commander and the troops on their screwups.
Now that I actually look at the question, "C" does look better than "B". The only thing that the makers of the test bank could be thinking is the issue surrounding Arctic sovereignty.
About question 22, somewhere in your powerpoints you said that with the US as the only continental neighbour, Canada's identity evolved that way. Isn't the answer you posted kind of against that then?
NO i wasnt saying anything about the leaders, haha but we can star if you want. MOntcalm was not that bad of a general. at least he went to see his troops on the front line. Hitler sat on his butt and just did nothing haha
Well, the world wars are fascinating in the shifts of power. A lot of lucky things piled up to turn the tides. And in both wars the US was like a giant on the sidelines, coming in at the end to seal the doom of the agressors.
Don't worry, Mr. Gilchrist, I tracked down the saboteurs for you and they won't be spreading the knowledge any further. Besides, they really need all the help they can get ;).
I'm guessing there's only you and me left as active posters. Anyway, who and what was the Bi and Bi Commission, and what did it eventually accomplish? What were the 3 points it made, and which piece of legislature was created in reaction, by which PM?
biculturalism and biligual commission? -use of french language in government -availability of opportunity to learn french in other provinces other than quebec -role of organization in promoting the french language
biculturalism and biligual commission? -use of french language in government -availability of opportunity to learn french in other provinces other than quebec -role of organization in promoting the french language
Royal Commission for Bilingualism and Biculturalism, was during Pearson's time. It investigated into whether French was on an equal status as English. Its three points of concern were 1)extent of bilingualism in fed government, 2)extent of promotion of bilingualism by organizations (both public and private), and 3)extent of education for both official languages. It set the ground for the Official Languages Act by suggesting French was NOT on an equal status with English. Trudeau passed the Official Languages Act.
do we need to know the french - english relations...like details???
-------------------------------- Yes, study the French-English Relations PowerPoint and that should be enough to get you by. If you want to do better, you'll have to dig deeper in the textbook.
Great I didn t mean to give it away!! DOnt be too mad at her she was helping out friend and I admit that I did send on ppts to one guy so I apologize right now.
I'm not too worried about it. I guess in the next year or so I'm going to be asked to put together a profile of students that do well in my classes and then I get those students in my class. Some sort of questionnaire related to online learning.
I'm just wondering, do those powerpoints have like copyright or some kind of royalty fee for Mr. Gilchrist? Because I can't think of any other reason for him to hoard them so badly (unless getting the school's highest SS-10 class average is holy to him).

yes it says "citizenship participation"
Yes, Haig did insist the troops walk. He was utterly convinced the artillery barrage had finished the Germans off.
what was his top rank. after the war and did he get discharged from service?
You don't need to know that. It's definitely not on the Final Exam.

It looks like Chris and Devin are having a random conversation again about military leaders.
"C" MUST be the right answer for 22.
Sorry about that, we can't resist.

hey chris? like CT? not the chris in my class?
isnt if Moncalme and wolfe was pretty good of a general too!
huh? I am CT in social class. in Social 10-2
ah...forgot a t in there
MOntcalm and Wolfe were pretty good. I said Hitler was an idiot Supreme Commander
Hitler was a better speaker than general. If he stuck with his preferred profession the world would be a much worser place.
how was he idiotic, his plans were pretty ingenious at the time, took over most parts of europe, almost got england.
And I know it was you! You were a spy at some point!
what!!! spy?? me??? innocent Chrissi??? haha nope not me Goldfishy gave out the practice papers though if you guys know who she is

Once information is posted online it's free to all to see. I just like to keep things in the family.

B. Québec- Support for increased provincial control over immigration nad employment
C. Ontario- Support for subsidizing industries relocating to economically depressed areas.

Well, Newfoundland has high unemployment, so they would be against that. Ontario has industry, and so they want to keep it in Ontario. Alberta definitely doesn't want a repeat of the NEP. However, Quebec would like control over jobs so they can stick more francophones into the high paying slots. Goodnight!
B
cause quebec wants more power over its own affairs

Caffeine is baaad for your health. It's the world's most pervasive and addicting drug. And National Geographic did an article on that too. You have to wonder what that has to do with geography.
