I talked about how demand-side economics and supply-side economics deal with a recession today. I also lectured a bit about Russian history as a prelude to a BBC 20th Century History series video on "Stalin and the Modernization of Russia". You had some class time to do one of two things: read the notes on Marx, Lenin and Stalin, OR start working on your Chapter 5 Key Terms. Your Chapter 5 Key Terms are due on October 13th. I'll take in the Chapter 5 Questions on October xx. Please remember that you have your Ideological Reaction to Industrialization Test tomorrow, please see the study guide below.

I started the "Reconstruction Era" PowerPoint presentation today, which I will continue tomorrow. I'll also show you a video about this topic tomorrow. You should be reading Chapters 11-13 in The United States and Its People textbook.
Social 10-1
We continued talking about essay writing today. I went through key elements of the first paragraph of the essay. I also gave you some sample OSAs and ARGUMENTS with the sample WRA II that is up on the Social 10-1 wiki on the Unit 1 main page. It is recommended that you check out this sample Unit 1 WRA II Essay first paragraph. Tomorrow, you'll get about 50 minutes to type up your first paragraph of your Unit 1 WRA II Essay. We will then come back to the classroom for a peer editing session. On Friday, you'll have the whole period to write the rest of your position paper.
