We watched Episode 4 of "Eyes on the Prize" today, so the questions are due tomorrow. Please make sure that you're working on your Google Docs group on your Paper 3 essay questions prep. U.S. CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT TEST STUDY GUIDE:

This test has multiple formats: there is a matching section, a short answer section, and 25 multiple choice questions. You will have the entire class period to write it. 

• study the "Civil Rights Movement" PowerPoint (you can find an electronic copy on the IB 30/35 wiki under Civil Rights and Social Movements in the Americas section)
• know key individuals in the U.S. Civil Rights Movement (Martin Luther King, James Farmer, John Lewis, Malcolm X, Stokely Carmichael, etc.)
• know key organizations in the movement (NAACP, SCLC, SNCC, CORE, Black Panthers, Nation of Islam, and key players)
• know key events of the civil rights movement (chronology/sequence of events)
• know federal government responses to the civil rights movement from the Truman administration to the Johnson administration

I did a homework check on your Chapter 7 Key Terms today. I started a PowerPoint lecture called "The Origins of the Cold War". I should be able to wrap up talking about the outbreak of the Cold War tomorrow. I also gave back your Unit 2 WRA I today. In tutorial tomorrow morning I'll walk you through the Unit 2 WRA I, so your attendance is strongly encouraged.

I gave back your Civil War and Reconstruction Era Paper 3 today. Overall, I was pretty happy with the results. We started Prescribed Subject 1 today by looking at the Paris Peace Conference and the Treaty of Versailles. We were just covering reparations, which is where I'll pick it up tomorrow.

I'll be starting Prescribed Subject 1 on Monday. Please enjoy your long weekend, you've earned it.

I will take in your Chapter 7 Key Terms on Monday. You don't have to complete your Chapter 7 Questions yet. We'll be starting the Cold War on Monday.
