We continued with the "Great Depression and the Americas" topic today by building a New Deal programs chart with a partner in Google Docs. 

I also collected the "Challenges to the New Deal Assignment", today.

Today was Day 1 of learning about the federal election. You completed the Vote Compass survey, and then worked on the party platforms chart for each party. Tomorrow, I'll split you into groups to put together research on candidates who are running locally for election to the House of Commons. You'll have to do a presentation on the political parties on Thursday of this week.

You wrote the Unit 1 Final Exam today. I have posted the marks in PowerSchool already. You're writing the Unit 1 WRA I on Tuesday, October 8th, you'll be allowed to use the writing guide in class. Please go directly to the Blenheim Room (back of the Library) tomorrow. Your Chapter 5 Key Terms and Questions are due on Tuesday, October 8th.

We continued with the "FDR and the New Deal" Google Slides lecture today. I also showed you a video from the BBC 20th Century History series called "FDR and the New Deal". On Monday, please come to Room 111, then we'll be going down to the Library to work on the New Deal Programs Chart. I will share this Google Doc on the IB 30/35 wiki on Monday morning during class. 

This weekend you should be working on the "Challenges to the New Deal Assignment", which is due on Monday, October 7th.

I started "The Evolution of Modern Liberalism" lecture today. I'll continue this lecture on Wednesday. We're booked into a computer lab on Monday and Tuesday, learning about the federal election, the party platforms for each party. You wrote the Unit 1 Final Exam today. If you missed today's class, you'll be writing this exam on Wednesday in class. Tomorrow, you'll be writing the Unit 1 WRA I (three source interpretation). Please go directly to the Red Lab tomorrow.

The first 20 minutes of class were spent with you picking a political cartoon from the blackboard, and then writing a one paragraph interpretation of it as if it were one source in a three source interpretation. We looked at Sweden as a case study of a democratic socialist country that employs a mixed economy today. Please remember that your Chapter 6 Key Terms and Questions are due tomorrow  (Tuesday, March 12th). This Friday, you're writing the Chapter 3-4 Test (Ideological Reaction to Industrialization Test), please see the study guide below. 

IDEOLOGICAL REACTION TO INDUSTRIALIZATION TEST STUDY GUIDE:

This test is multiple choice format. This test is on Friday, March 15th.
