SOCIAL 30-1

We talked a little bit about arms reduction talks, detente, deterrence, and mutually assured destruction (MAD) today. We also watched "Good Night, and Good Luck" and looked at the Cold War concept of McCarthyism. We also looked at the concept of positive and negative freedoms. We then transitioned into Unit 3 material by looking at democratic systems, namely parliamentary and presidential systems in Canada and the USA.
