July 8

I gave back your Unit 1 WRA I Chart Assignment and your Unit 1 WRA I today at the beginning of class. I went through the Unit 1 WRA I with you,and gave you some tips for how interpret the sources. One thing that a lot of you have to work on is distinguishing between classical liberalism and modern liberalism. I also taught you about the shift from classical liberalism to welfare capitalism to modern liberalism, the Great Depression, the stock market crash, buying on credit, Keynesian economics (demand-side economics) responses to the various stages of the business cycle.

I went through "the recipe for success" for writing position papers today as well. I also gave you the Unit 1 WRA II Essay Question Sheet. You're writing this position paper on Wednesday. I set up a Google Doc for this essay, so I can give you feedback on your argumentation and evidence.
