I went through a Google Slides lecture today on "German Expansion, 1938-1940", and I was able to finish it off as well. I started showing you a YouTube video called the "Road to WWII: Germany", we'll finish off this video tomorrow. We're nearing the end of Case Study 2 in Prescribed Subject 3. We might be able to finish off this topic this week.

We finished watching "Shipbreakers" today. I started a lecture called "Globalization and Sustainability" today, which I'll spread out over most of this week. I did a homework check on Fascist Italy and Mussolini Chapter 3 Questions at the beginning of class today. I delivered a PowerPoint lecture on German foreign policy from 1933-1937. I have converted it to a Google Slides presentation, and shared it with you (as I have done with yesterday's lecture). I also shared a Google Doc on German foreign policy with source analysis questions. This homework assignment is due on Tuesday, December 5th, you will share it with my GMail account.

I delivered a PowerPoint lecture on "The Impact of Globalization on Environments", which didn't take too long. If you missed class today, please get the notes from a classmate on this lecture and on the NFB documentary that we started today called "Shipbreakers". We finished off "The Great Depression in Canada" PowerPoint lecture. We quickly reviewed the boom and bust cycle, demand-side economics responses to the various stages of the business cycle, and how demand-side and supply-side economics respond to a recession.

We looked at civil rights, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, human rights, liberalism and illiberalism. We'll be looking at the usage of the War Measures Act during the FLQ Crisis of 1970 next week, along with post-9/11 anti-terrorism legislation that was passed in the USA and Canada. You also had class time to work on your Chapter 9 Key Terms and Questions.

I did a homework check on your Chapter 13 Key Terms and Questions. We finished off the NFB documentary "Shipbreakers". After watching the video, I had you work in small groups to generate a T-chart on the advantages (opportunities, benefits) of the shipbreaking industry and its disadvantages (challenges, detriments). We talked a little bit about alternative energy sources, and we'll talk about biofuels on Monday.

Obviously, the case study that we were looking at today was China as an authoritarian state.
