March 30

We did a quick review of what we've covered so far in our Economics Unit. We also watched a video called "FDR and the New Deal" and as you were watching this video you were to take notes on it. If you missed today's class, you'll need to get these notes from a classmate. I also gave you some class time to work on the USA in the 1920s and 1930s booklet. This booklet is due on Wednesday (April 1st), for double homework check marks! Make sure that you get it done.

I collected your answers to "The Way of Subjects" primary document analysis questions at the start of class. I'll be returning this to you tomorrow. Also, we talked about Japanese expansionism, and motivations for attacking Pearl Harbor in December 1941. We watched an excerpt from the movie "Pearl Harbor" as well today. I will be sending you a presentation on the internment of Japanese-Canadians in WWII tonight. It is your responsibility to read this presentation and print it off for tomorrow's class (it'll be a homework check tomorrow), it's better if you know a little bit about the internment for tomorrow's class since we'll be watching a video about the internment. Also, tomorrow we'll be doing a selection of topics for your Unit 2 collaborative inquiry research project. It's probably best to have an idea of who you will be working with on this project prior to tomorrow's class. You should be reviewing tonight for your Chapter 5-6 Test on Thursday, here is the study guide (scroll down to find it).

Most of today's class was spent in the Blenheim Room writing your In-Class Position Paper #2. Tomorrow, you have your Economics Unit Exam. I gave you a list of key terms that you need to know for this unit exam, make sure that you understand those concepts EXTREMELY well! Also, have a look back at the study guide for Market Economy and Mixed Economy test (the only addition will be material from the Command Economy): here is that study guide again (scroll down to find it).
