Social 20-1

We covered a lot of ground today. We backtracked a bit to watch a video called "Make Germany Pay", which should have given you a greater indication of the devastating economic effects of the Treaty of Versailles, as well as other Interwar Years developments. We also watched "Why Appeasement?" and I gave you a handout called "Was Appeasement A Good Idea?", please make sure that complete the Focus Task with this sheet. If you missed today's class, you will need to get notes from a classmate to fill out the film study sheets that went along with the videos.

Part of today's period was spent completing a worksheet called "The Basic of the Market Economy", which had you read pages 90-101 in A Changing World to complete a chart on the advantages and disadvantages of key ideas associated with capitalism. I also covered the laws of supply and demand and the business cycle today. You have your Political Systems Exam on Thursday, here is the study guide.

Today I did a little bit of "housekeeping" giving a lot of homework checked work back, and also giving you the results back from some recent tests. Also, I went through a lot of material related to dictatorships. If you missed class today, you need to get these notes from a classmate. Tonight would be a great night to do some preparation for your upcoming Position Paper #2.
