April 16

I showed you a couple of videos today, the first one was about the construction of the Berlin Wall, and the lengths to which the East German government went to prevent its' citizens from escaping to the West. I also recommended a German movie to you today called "Goodbye Lenin!" (please see below). I then showed you a short documentary on the Cuban Missile Crisis from the BBC 20th Century History series called "Mr. Kennedy and Mr. Khrushchev", which gave you some historical context for the crisis. You then had the remainder of class to work on your Cold War Events charts in your Social 30-1 workbooks.
