December 9

Today we focused in on the election campaign, specifically what candidates are running in the Calgary Nose Hill riding. I would like you to see if you can collect more campaign information directly from the candidates in your riding. If you go to the Canada Votes website, you find contact information for most of the candidates. You may have to work a little harder to find out information about your Green party candidate though. Please don't forget that you have your "Government" Test on Tuesday!

We went over the material in Chapter 5: Hunger that you read yesterday in class. Today was the last day that I would accept your "Country Report Assignment".

For the 'government' exam for social 10, is it on like the WHOLE unit...like everything on that outline sheet that you gave us when we began this unit?
I'm confused!

Sorry, I just have 2 questions:

1- What powerpoints should we study for the social 10 government test on monday? Just the two called 'Politics and Government' ?

2- Have you already sent out the Citizenship powerpoint yet?

Thanks

What do we do if we can't find a single piece of propaganda from our candidates? Or is it OK to stake out if the candidates are snail-mailing it?

On Monday night (if we're not playing Jeopardy!) can "quiz one another using this blog as a medium"?.

The only PowerPoint that you need to study for the test on TUESDAY are the Politics and Government ones. The one on Citizenship contains material that will not be on the test. We won't be playing Jeopardy in class tomorrow, you need to study on your own time. I have some concerns about the use of the blog for studying, judging by the events that transpired on the blog before the last test. If it's going to be used, it should be for actually quizzing one another with hypothetical multiple choice questions. Last time there was some inaccurate information that was being passed around as fact. I do not have the time to monitor every single comment that appears on the blog the night before an exam, so take any information that is posted by your classmates with a grain of salt. In other words: they may be wrong!
