We covered the usage of the War Measures Act during the FLQ Crisis in 1970 in Quebec today. I showed you a video from the Turning Points of History series on the FLQ Crisis, and while you were watching this video, you needed to complete the film study questions in your Social 30-1 study booklets (pages 248-249). Please remember the following upcoming important dates:

We covered a lot of ground today with market and mixed economies, all in preparation for your Market and Mixed Economy Test which is on Wednesday, December 16th. I will post the study guide for this test on Wednesday (December 9th).

We looked at the controversy surrounding biofuels today, and we talked about measures of prosperity in the "Globalization and Sustainability" PowerPoint presentation. As I said in class, the Millennium Development Goals have hit their expiration date, and the UN has negotiated a new framework for development called the Sustainable Development Goals, or more simply put, the Global Goals.
