December 18

You wrote your Unit 3 Final Exam today in class. We'll be tying up some loose ends with Unit 4 tomorrow in class, specifically looking at the Kyoto Accord and dealing with more recent events from the Bali Conference on climate change. Please remember that your Political Cartoon Analysis Assignment is due tomorrow.

You wrote your Topic B Unit Final today. I have sent you a very important e-mail today, it is the Social 20 Final Exam Blueprint. You need to print it off, and bring it to class tomorrow. Also, you have finished all of the content of Social 20. You need to take advantage of this and start doing some review. Go back to Topic A and start reviewing it, it'll pay off in January during Final Exams!

Either is fine. Just make sure that it's about a one page write-up that covers the questions from the assignment sheet and the techniques used by the cartoonist in your political cartoon. Also, make sure that you include the cartoon itself (this doesn't count towards the one page miniumum).

Mr. Gilchrist, for our political cartoon anaylsis thing, did u only give us one handout titled "Political Cartoon Interpretation Questions" or was there another handout u gave us that gives us the instructions? Cuz, i dunno if i one i have now is the one i need to answer the questions for my cartoon.

I only gave you one sheet. Try to answer the questions on the top half of the sheet, and try to identify techniques used by cartoonist (bottom half of the sheet). Try to organize this in paragraph form.

Are you going to give us a mark update this week?

Social 10.

Do we have to answer ALL the questions, cuz what if some don't apply?

Some won't apply. I said that in class.

if there is a question that doesnt apply to our cartoon, like if there are no vocabulary words needed to understand it, do we write in our paragraph "no, there is no necessary vocabulary required to understand this cartoon" or do we just not answer it and skip it?

You'll have a mark update the first week back from break. You'll know your mark going in to Final Exam, unless you're in Social 10, the Part A of the Final might throw your mark off a bit if you do poorly. At any rate, you'll get your up-to-date marks after the break.

Skip it.
