October 19

You wrote your Unit 2 Written Response Assignment I today in class. You'll get the results back tomorrow. Please read over the Democratic Systems notes that I gave you today, and check your e-mail later tonight because I will be re-sending the Characteristics of Democracy notes.

You wrote your Chapter 7 Test today, which took most of the period. Please make sure that you have read Chapter 9 prior to tomorrow's class. Your Chapter 9 Key Terms and Questions are due Wednesday, and your Imperialism Research Project is due on Friday.

Mr g.
1)did the colonization of India start in 1501??
2)How would far do you think the timeline of India's imperialiam would go until?
3) do we have to have one slide per event in our timeline?

Mr Gilchrist,
We don't have school on Friday, do we? How are we supposed to hand in our projects? For a prezi, would we just send you the link of the published product before Friday?
Thanks,
10-4

Around the 1500s for sure. I would take the India timeline at least up to 2007 (think of my PowerPoint presentation and the connection between the disputes between India and Pakistan over Kashmir, and the roots of that in British dominance over the Indian subcontinent, and in turn, partition of British India in 1947). If you can combine events on the slide that's fine, but you don't want it too cluttered.

I hate to break it to you, but there's school on Friday. There's no school on Thursday though.

Mr G.
On the sheet you gave us about for projects for social 10, one of things you wanted was the modern day results of colonization and the chart had three sections to it: aspects of globalization, positive, negative. what did you mean by aspects of globalization?
