I did a homework check on your Chapter 17 and 18 Key Terms and Questions at the beginning of class today. We're really pushing to finish off Unit 4 very quickly, which is why I gave you the worksheets for Chapter 19 and 20 today. Here is what you need to do for the Chapter 19 Key Terms and Questions:
1. Define the following key terms:
- transnational community
- genetically modified (GM)
- BSE
- Green Revolution
- pandemic
2. Read the following sections of Chapter 19:
- The Effects of Globalization on Migration and Technology
- Globalization of the Food Supply (see below for note-taking)
- Pandemics in a Globalizing World (see below for note-taking)
- Water: An Essential Natural Resource
3. Take notes on the following:
- Pros and cons of GM food (make a chart)
- point form notes on "The Globalization of Disease" section of Chapter 19
I also gave you the Chapter 20 textbook work today as well. Here is what you need to do for Chapter 20.
1. Define the following key terms:

- allegiance

2. Read the following sections in Chapter 20:

3. Complete the following activities in Chapter 20:
- Complete the "Express and Explain" questions on p.333 (all of #2 and #3)
- Complete the "Voices" activity on p.335 (questions #1-#3)
