May 3


I split you into four different groups today, and I gave each group an envelope filled with quotes about nationalism. Each group was assigned a quote to analyze, which you did in your small groups while referring to the step-by-step instructions that were taped to the outside of the envelope. We discussed each quote as a class, and then I gave you the Unit 2 WRA II essay question sheet. You had a little bit of time to discuss the quote in your small groups. You're only allowed to bring this sheet into the computer lab on Monday. You're only allowed to write your notes on this sheet on the front of the page, and in the designated space. All of your notes must be hand-written. You'll also be writing the Chapter 7-8 Test next Tuesday (May 8th), please see the study guide below.


This test is on Tuesday, May 8th. It will consist of 20-24 key terms in a matching section, and 3-4 short answer questions. Please study the following PowerPoint presentations:
  • "The Holocaust" (this is posted on the wiki)
  • "8 Stages of Genocide" (it's also posted on the wiki)
  • "Contemporary Examples of Genocide" (this is posted on the wiki)

Please study the following notes packages/film study packages:

  • White Light/Black Rain (film notes)
  • Shake Hands with the Devil (film notes + package)
  • Unit 2 Worksheet (chapter questions for Chapter 7 and 8)
  • make sure that you have read Chapters 7 and 8!

I showed you a video on "U.S. Politics (1980-2000)" at the beginning of class, which reviewed the Reagan, Bush Sr., and Clinton administrations. Today we had a question and answer period too. You need to getting into massive review mode for the rest of this week, and into this weekend!
