February 19


I collected your Chapter 4 booklets again for a homework check on the American section, as well as taking in the Canadian Government Internet Reearch Assignment. I gave out some handouts on the American government system today, and I had you add some notes to these handouts as we went through them together. On Thursday (February 21st) you will have a short Democracy Quiz. On Friday, February 29th you will have your Democracy Unit Final. Here is the study guide for that unit final:

We finished watching "Whale Rider" in class, and then we went through the film study questions together as a class. I went over some questions and concerns that you had about the Illustrated Concept Map Assignment and specific questions about the written description that should go along with the concept map. Tomorrow, we'll be talking a bit about media transnationals.

  • Illustrated Concept Map Assignment is due tomorrow (February 20th)
  • Chapter 1-2 Quiz is on February 22nd (here is the study guide)

Mr. Gilchirst, for the bibliography, i dont quite get what you're supposed to do....

That part is the title of the article. You would just substitute that part out with the name of the image (if it doesn't have one, give it one). You would also have to update the date and the URL, but other than that you should be able to understand it now, yes?

Insert the year that the image was uploaded, if you can. I put 2008 as an example.

Mr.G, do we have to hand in rough draft of the concept map, rough draft of the written description, and the group brainstorming? (it was on the check list, so i was wondering if we needed those...)

No, you don't have to hand those things in. You just needed to do them.

Make it up. I'm honestly not checking to see if you accurately found out what year every single image was uploaded. I'm checking to see if you're using the correct format in your citation list.
