April 10

Welcome back from Spring break, I hope that you had a good time. Now it's back to work...

I delivered a presentation today on "Canada's Role on the World Stage", which I have already sent to you. I also distributed the topic for next week's in-class position paper. I sent you an outline sheet for this essay topic as well. Please remember to study for tomorrow's WWI-WWII Quiz.

We picked up where we left off before the break, looking at the command economy. I gave you a series of handouts in class today, and had you add supplemental notes to them. We also did a brief simulation of the Soviet Union's method of planning with a Gosplan simulation. I also gave you a reading called "Economic Planning in the USSR", which we will be continuing with tomorrow.

Hey Mr. G
I was jst wondering if there was a studyguide posted on the blog for the WW1 WW2 quiz?

This was posted a while back.

[quote Mr.Gilchrist]

You need to know Chapters 7-9 and Chapter 12-14 cold. I'm not going to give any more hints than that, other than you need to know those key
terms.

I've noticed we rarely post comments and Mr.G says that the classes he had before even tested others on the blog so let's all contribute and make up questions.

1. The war that lasted from 1914 to 1918 is__________.

2. The was two Alliance Systems during the war, they are _________, and __________.

3. The loyalty to the home country is called __________.
