I said why you didn't get them back to both classes. I have all of Social 10-1's essays marked. I have to finish 10-3's before I give them back. I won't give one class their essays until I have both sets complete.

Well, let's think about this for a bit. For the "What values underlie capitalism?", have a look in that section you should find a box that says what the key ideas are for capitalism. For that bullet list of key ideas, you should be able to pull out the values of capitalism (one of them is individualism, just to get you started). As for the "Whose values did industrialization reflect?" just try to remember who has the most power in the Industrial Revolution? Did the workers have a lot of power? Or did the factory owners/capitalists/bourgeouisie have all the power? I think if you think about it those terms, you should be able to figure out the answer. For your next question "How did imperialism benefit one people over another?", think back to the video that I showed you called "Tools of Exploitation". In the imperial power-colony relationship (especially in tradtional mercantilist terms) the colony was merely a storehouse of raw materials, and existed for the benefit of the mother country. The colonies had to ship all raw materials/resources to the mother country to be manufactured and then the mother country would turn around and sell the goods back to the colonies. The colonies were not allowed to trade with other imperial powers. So, given all this, who do you think benefited from imperialism?

Does this help?
