March 6

I wrote some notes on the board to give you some background information on Russian/Soviet History at the start of class today. If you were away today, you'll have to get these notes from a classmate. The rest of the period was spent working on a worksheet called "Lenin and His Heirs", this is due on Tuesday. You have homework due on Monday, the Dictatorship Internet Project is due on Monday, and the "Rise of Adolf Hitler" booklet is also due on Monday. Your two-part Dictator Project is due on Thursday, March 12th (you could do this individually or with a partner).

Most of today's class was spent in a simulation for a fictitious peace conference prior to the First World War, the purpose of the conference was to avert war. After completing this simulation to have a greater sense of the causes of the war, and how national interests and the foreign policies of the major powers helped lead Europe into war. Don't forget that your Chapter 5 Key Terms and Questions are due on Monday, March 9th. Also, your Unit 1 Final Exam is on Monday, it's 75 multiple choice questions. Here is the study guide (you may have to scroll down to find it).

We finished watching "Boom and Bust" today, as well as watching "FDR and the New Deal". I collected your Chapter 7 and Case Study 11 questions at the beginning of class. On Monday, March 9th, you will have an Economic Systems Quiz. This quiz will be short answer and similar in format to the Basic Political Ideology Quiz that you wrote last month. The study guide for this quiz is below.
