ok time to tell a story...

I was on the bus this afternoon with several of my friends and we were talking about the word "annonymous". Unfortunately, one of them didnt know what "annonymous" means, so we asked him if he knew quotes such as "Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you'll land amoung the stars", which is a quote by an "annonymous" person. The guy pretends to know what annonymous means by answering "Oooo yeah, he's that famous Greek philosopher...now I remember him!"

Just a random story

In your first paragraph you do need to address the fact that there are at least two points of view on this issue. One, that the major powers at the Paris Peace Conference were justified in assigning the blame to Germany, and making the "war guilt clause" part of the Treaty of Versailles. The other point of view is that the major powers weren't justified in assigning blame to Germany. If your thesis is that the major powers weren't justified, you have to discuss why some people (possibly historians) would feel that Germany was to blame for the outbreak of the war. You have to address both sides of the issue. This is absolutely critical, and if you don't do this in your first paragraph it will cost you some marks. In your body paragraphs you will probably want to make the case for other nations being to blame for the outbreak of the war. I described this to a student the other day like this: if Germany were on trial for being guilty for the outbreak of the war, and you were Germany's lawyer, how would you defend Germany? Would you say that Germany was partly guilty? Probably not, you would want to cast "a reasonable doubt" on the guilt of Germany by implicating other parties (countries in this case) and their role in the outbreak of the war. Does this help?
