December 12

We had our class debate today in class, which I think went well. We'll be moving back to World History Topic 11: Causes and Effects of 20th Century Wars by looking at World War II. Please don't forget that you're writing another Paper 1 on Prescribed Subject 3 on Friday, December 15th. Remember, half of the class will write on the Italian expansionism topic, and half of the class will write on the German expansionism case study.

I gave you a reading on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which you need to finish reading if you didn't get to reading all of it in class. I next gave you an activity on the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, wherein you needed to take summarized notes on the various sections of the Charter, and whether those sections would be affected by the notwithstanding clause. I also gave you the Unit 3 WRA II essay question sheet. You are writing this essay on Thursday. Tomorrow, we'll continue to prepare for the Unit 3 essay. Please remember that one week from today you will be writing the Unit 3 Final Exam (Tuesday, December 19th), you can find the study guide for this exam below.

Please make sure that you have read Chapters 10-14. Please make sure that you have the following PowerPoint presentations, and that you study from them:

  • "Foundations of Economic Globalization"
  • "The Expansion of Economic Globalization"
  • "Challenges and Opportunities of Economic Globalization"
  • "The Impact of Economic Globalization on Environments"
  • "Globalization and Sustainability"
Make sure that you have reviewed the Key Terms from Unit 3 (all the terms listed on the Unit 3 Worksheet, plus the extra key terms that appeared in the PowerPoint presentations). The Unit 3 Final Exam will consist of 50-60 multiple choice questions.
