Does the writing assignment have to be double spaced?

That would be ideal. However, I'm not going to penalize you for typing it up single spaced.

for the test (social 20), do we have to study about the philosophes?

if it's double spaced, is it still one and a half page, or is it like 2?

It would be longer then, maybe 2 pages.

are we allowed to use "we" instead of using "I" in the essay? even though the topic is what impact I have?

You do know that the philosophes are the group of Enlightenment thinkers that you will be responsible for the test. Voltaire and Rousseau would be considered to be part of the philosophes.

Yes, that's okay.

For our writing assignment Social 10, would you prefer a well thought out title for our essay? Or is "My effects on the rest of the world" okay?

Don't stress out too much on coming up with a creative title, in fact, you don't need one.

The body is three paragraphs, but we only have to write about the advantages and disadvantages. How are we suppose to split those up evenly in those 3 paragraphs? And does the 5 by 5 structure mean five paragraphs, 5 sentences each?

I guess it would depend on the structure of your essay. As a class, we discussed one way of approaching the topic was to have social/cultural effects, environmental effects, and economic effects form the backbone of the body paragraphs. I would still recommend this structure to you, and then take up the positive and negative effects that you have upon the world in those body paragraphs. I would expect each paragraph to consist of at least 5 sentences each. Does this help?

yup. Thanks a lot.

Is it necessary to have facts or statistics to back up your point?

I think that I said something about not looking things up on the Internet (or going to Wikipedia and copying and pasting something from there). This is your personal effects on the world, so hopefully we could avoid quoting stats to back up what you're writing about.

for the essay, i'm not sure if i'm writting on topic anymore.
is it your own personal affects like exactly what i do, what i buy (ie: i go to a market and buy a tomatoe from peru, i am support the farmer's market in peru) or is it affects as an individual (ie: consumer buys a certain product and this could be the outcome: child labor, economic success of that country, etc)
i wrote on the second one... more of the choices of a consumer through golbalization and the effects from the consumer.
is that totally wrong?

No, that's not wrong. Now you can relax.

could an example be like : when WE decide to watch a certain movie, the movie might influence the way we act and how we treat other people.

Yes, and it might also have an effect on your personal identity too. For example, you watch a movie that deals with the themes of genocide (ex. the movie "Hotel Rwanda") and as result you decide to become more informed about the world around you, and genocide in Africa.
