April 23

Most of today's class was spent writing your Interwar Years Quiz. Please make sure to hand in your Interwar Years Timeline Assignment tomorrow in class, if you didn't hand it in today. You still have your Interwar Years Unit Exam on Monday, April 27th, please see the study guide here.

I did a homework check to see if you had printed off your "Contemporary Examples of Genocide" PowerPoint presentation at the beginning of class. We then started to watch the film "Shake Hands with the Devil". We will finish this film tomorrow, the film study questions that go along with this film will be due next week.

I started class by doing a quick review of the terms of the Treaty of Versailles (GARGLe) and the other mnemonic that I have taught to you, the FAILURe of the League of Nations. I then gave you a booklet on key events in the Interwar Years. This booklet is what you should review when it comes time to study for the Diploma Exam because it does a nice job of covering key events that occurred between WWI and WWII. We also did a worksheet on "Hitler's Road to WWII" from A History of the 20th Century (pages 30-38). Tomorrow, we'll be talking about appeasement, and whether or not it was the right approach in dealing with Hitler's demands prior to the outbreak of WWII.
