April 9


I gave you back the results of your Topic A Unit Exam at the beginning of class. Also, we watched a film called "Make Germany Pay" and completed a film study to go along with it. There were some additional notes to go along with this film study that I wrote on the board as well. It is really important that you stick to the following reading schedule as we progress through Topic B of Social 30. I am also sending this reading schedule to you by e-mail, so make sure that you check your accounts tonight.

The Interwar Period:

  • Chapter 3-5 complete reading by April 14th
  • Chapter 6 complete reading by April 17th

The Second World War:

  • Chapter 7 April 17th-20th
  • Chapter 8 April 21st-24th

The Cold War (note chronological deviation):

  • Chapter 9 April 25th-29th
  • Chapter 10 April 30th-May 4th
  • Chapter 11 May 5th-May 8th
  • Chapter 13 May 9th-May 12th

The Contemporary World:

We continued our look at the Holocaust today by watching a video called "Genocide", and then continuing the discussion about common questions about the Holocaust.This weekend would be a great weekend to work on your collaborative inquiry projects. I will be checking them and offering suggestions regarding the essential questions that you will be investigating.


We did a major review of the Economic Systems unit today. We looked at how each of the three economic systems would answer the basic economic questions, and we played a short review game on the Economic Systems unit. Please make sure that you review this weekend, you have major tests on this unit coming up on Tuesday and Wednesday.
