April 17

I delivered a presentation on "Canada's Foreign Policy" today. I will be sending this presentation out this evening. I also distributed a booklet on "Foreign Aid", so if you missed today's class you need to get this handout from me tomorrow.

We went over the chart that I had assigned prior to the long weekend at the beginning of class. We started a new unit today called Imperialism. I assigned Q1-9 from Chapter 10. I will set a due date for these questions very soon. Your priority should be on studying tonight.

For the SS20 unit final, do we need to know exact percentages that the power was divided up in the commuinst, socialist, etc. gov'ts? Also do we need to know exactly what each invention did or just who invented them? How many questions is the test? Do we need to know the inventors/inventions from the agricultural revolution? Do we need to know specifically what Robert Owen did and who Charles fourier was? From the chart we went over today do we need to know the people in each "ism" or just the main concepts? For the "isms" do we need to know them in great detail or just enough to distinguish between them all?

Wow lots of questions, I'll try to answer them as simply as possible:
1. No
2. You need to know who invented what, and that's it
3. There are 81 questions on the test
4. Yes
5. You need to know a fair bit about Robert Owen and Charles Fourier
6. It's definitely good to know the people associated with each ideology, and what were some of the key ideas associated with those ideologies
7. The more you know about each of the "-isms" the better off you'll be
