October 3

We started our "Identity" unit today. I delivered a lecture/presentation called "The Canadian Identity". I have sent this presentation to you already, so please print it off and put it in your binders. I also gave you a reading called "Canadians Are Not Americans". You were to read this article and answer questions related to it that I put up on the board.

  • French-English Relations Timeline Project is due Tuesday, October 10th

We watched the film "Waterloo" in class today. I will be sending you the film study questions tonight via e-mail, so please check your inboxes. This film study is due next Tuesday. I have changed some due dates for assignments so please check the list below for the new due dates.
  • DBA #2 is due tomorrow October 4th
  • Napoleon Crossword, Word Search and Map of Napoleonic Europe is due Friday, October 6th (this has been changed!)
  • Napoleon's Conquests Chart is due Tuesday, October 10th
  • Nationalism Test is on Thursday, October 12th (click here for the study guide)
  • French Revolution/Napoleonic Era Board Game Project is due Tuesday, October 24th

Here are some helpful maps for working on your Napoleonic Europe maps (I will also try to bring in some historical atlases tomorrow to help you with this):

To see a larger version of any of these maps just click on them. There are also maps in your textbook that will be helpful!

On the right hand side of the blog under Social 20 links you'll find a link to a Wikipedia article on Napoleon. Open that link up, and scroll down to "Early life and military career". The answer is in the last paragraph.

Why are you yelling? Yes you do. You will have to meet as a group outside of class time eventually though.

For agreement and disagreement in the cahiers, can we just write the point numbers that agree and disagree or we have to re-write the whole sentence?
